Kado (“we,” “us,” or “our”) built the Kado mobile application (the “App”) to help you build mindful habits and professional momentum in small, supportive Zen Pods. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account & Profile Data

What: Name, email address, password (securely hashed), optional profile photo.
Why: To create and manage your account, authenticate you, and display your profile within your Zen Pod.

1.2 User-Generated Content

What: Daily check-ins (text, photo, voice), “kudos” you give and receive, session attendance logs.
Why: To power core features—check-ins, Pod sessions, and Zen Points tracking.

1.3 Usage & Device Data

What: Device model, operating system version, App version, session timestamps, feature usage metrics.
Why: To monitor performance, diagnose issues, and improve the App.
How: Collected automatically via standard analytics and crash-reporting services.

1.4 Notifications Data

What: Device push token, email address.
Why: To send reminders for daily check-ins, upcoming Pod sessions, and account notices.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Operate & Enhance the App: Enable daily check-ins, Pod sessions, Zen Points, and Ambassador workflows.
• Personalize Your Experience: Recommend pods, tailor prompts, and surface your check-in history.
• Communicate with You: Send onboarding emails, reminders, and support responses.
• Analyze Trends: Aggregate usage data (in anonymized form) to refine features and content.
• Protect & Secure: Detect and prevent unauthorized access or activity.

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 Within the App

Pod members and Ambassadors see your check-ins, kudos exchanges, and session participation in your 12-week Zen Pod.

3.2 Service Providers

We engage trusted vendors (analytics, crash reporting, email delivery, cloud storage) under strict confidentiality terms.

3.3 Legal Requirements

Disclosures may occur if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety of users.

4. Data Retention

• Account & Profile Data: Retained until you delete your account, plus 90 days for reactivation.
• User-Generated Content: Same as account data.
• Aggregate Analytics: Kept in anonymized form indefinitely to understand long-term trends.

5. Your Rights & Choices

5.1 Access, Correction & Deletion

Email no-reply@kadoapp.com to request copies or updates to your personal data.
In the App, go to Settings → Delete Account; we will remove your data within 30 days.

5.2 Notifications

Disable push notifications via your device settings.
Unsubscribe from emails via the “unsubscribe” link in any message.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards—including encrypted connections (TLS) in transit and encrypted storage at rest—to protect your information. Regular security reviews help us maintain a strong defense.

7. Children’s Privacy

Kado is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have information from a child under 13, please contact us to request removal.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new practices or legal requirements. We’ll post the revised policy here with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, notify you in-app.
